Walls

We built a wall! No, not that kind of wall (for those of you who are politically minded). We built an 21 ft long, rotating message wall for a few creative moments during our last night of worship. This is one of those concepts that seemed easy in our heads, but ended up being WAY more work than anticipated. However, the vision eventually came to life and helped us with a few “reveal” elements in our service. Thanks to all of our RC Creative volunteers that helped! Find out more about what we did inside today’s post! Read More…

Students, Songs, and Star Wars?

Our student worship staff recently wrote a new worship song for their “We Are” series. They did an awesome job, and we wanted to share it with you. We asked them to shoot us a simple lyric video so that you could read the words while you listen. Somewhere along they way, they thought it would be funny to add a Star Wars themed intro at the beginning. We’re not sure the tie in here…but hey, why not! Enjoy checking out the song, Center.

Mark is an phenomenal artist. He’s also a musician, a husband, a dad, and an all around cool guy. As a member of our creative community, Mark has invested a lot of his time and talent into ministry here at Rush Creek. Advance Commitment Night

After months of prayer, vision casting, and hard work, hundreds of incredible leaders at Rush Creek took their first step in response to Unleashed. This gathering was just a small percentage of the thousands who participated across all of our campuses on commitment Sunday, but what an incredible beginning. We had an amazing experience at the Mansfield Performing Arts center as we celebrated the hope of Jesus and the mission of the church!

Better Together

We had a great time looking through all the pictures that overtook social media during our “Better Together”s series. We pulled a few from the internet machine and included them in a gallery here. Check them out, you might just find yourself on a tandem bike or a Rush Creek See-Saw! Read More…

RCC Volunteer Highlight: Troy Thompson

As our team prepared to kick off our fall with the “Better Together” series, we wanted to create some fun photo op stations at each of our four local campuses. We brainstormed scenarios that require two people to work, and the first one that came to mind was a see-saw (or teeter-totter…the debate on the actual name has been heated). We couldn’t find anything local except for small playground pieces that couldn’t support more than 50 or 60 pounds. So we threw our need out to RC Creative and connected for the first time with a new RCC member, Troy Thompson. And he CRUSHED it. Read More…

The Interactive Rush Creek Experience

Rush Creek on the Road was such a fun series of events leading up to our Unleashed series. Our teams and volunteers worked insanely hard to produce some incredible interactive exhibits and a unique worship experience at each of our campuses. Watch this video that kicked off each event and then check out our individual exhibit posts!

Senior Launch 2017

Another year has come and gone, and we just launched out a new group of Seniors into the world. We love each and every one of them, and pray that they will continue to pursue Jesus in all that they do. Special thanks to Chris Hardy for taking us down memory lane with this service bumper!

Ultimate Hope

Do you believe? This is a tough question, especially for believers dealing with the loss of a loved one. Is there really life beyond death? Can we completely trust Jesus’ promises and teachings? When our faith is pushed to the limits, Jesus assures us through his own resurrection that there is more to come. He is the resurrection and the life, claims validated three days after his crucifixion. And today we still hold on this truth. Check out this two part testimony video that we showed on Easter Sunday. We still believe!

Psalm 23

Over the past three weeks, all five of our campuses have been working through Psalm 23 in our Overloaded series. We’ve challenged everyone who calls Rush Creek home to memorize and internalize this great passage. Contrary to popular belief, Psalm 23 is just as much about life as it is death! Check out this video of RC Creative volunteers helping us read and memorize together!

Reaching & Remembering the One

The past three weeks at Rush Creek have been incredible. Our campus pastors have been teaching through Luke 15, redirecting our attentions back towards the “Ones” that God has placed in our lives. These are the people we encounter everyday who are far from God, yet clearly within our circles of influence. We’ve been challenged to re-align our hearts with Jesus and his mission to pursue the lost. This short video captures the heart of our series and highlights several creative elements we’ve utilized to help us keep these people in front of our eyes. Read More…

It’s Complicated

Things are not always what they seem, especially when it comes to relationships. So how can you communicate this truth graphically? Our newest series, It’s Complicated, was a tricky one for our team. After several dead-end brainstorming sessions, we finally landed on a concept that we loved. Not only do these fun social media pic parodies represent the main idea well, they were a LOT of fun to make. Take a look inside to see what twelve hours of work, a full staff, some Chick Fil A, and great volunteers can accomplish together!

Reindeer Anyone?

We want to give a shout out to Rachel Smith and the Down on the Farm Petting Zoo in Mansfield for helping us make our Christmas Eve promo awesome. Clarice, our reindeer friend, made a fun project even better. If you didn’t see the video, check it out here. Merry Christmas everyone! Read More…

Traditions Series Promo

It’s that time of the year again! The annual Christmas series promo is one of our team’s favorite projects to work on. What makes it even better is the number of RC Creative volunteers just like YOU that help us pull this video off every year. And this Christmas was no different. We used a record number of volunteers for this project: interior designers, actors, transport teams, people who let us film in their homes, and more! Read on to get a little behind the scenes peek at the process and find out how you can join in with our RC Creative team on an upcoming project! Read More…

Why RC Creative Matters

If you haven’t ever attended one of our elements classes, then warning: spoilers to follow. The Elements experience has been an incredible one over the past three years, and part of it’s unique character stems from several creative moments throughout the morning. One of which is a live painting during communion (after some other cool build up). Our normal painter was unavailable for our most recent class, so we needed to find a replacement on fairly short notice. And we found that incredibly talented artist from within our RC Creative community. And his first contribution was awesome.  Read More…

Freeway

The promo video for our Freeway series is one of the more elaborate shoots that our team has undertaken this year. What many people at Rush Creek don’t realize is that a 90 second video like this is often the result of months of preparation. The concept for this particular shoot was locked in nearly four months before it aired. The in-between time was spent writing scripts, capturing voice-overs, story boarding scenes, recruiting actors, and even practicing our drone flying skills. All in hopes of connecting people to a common desire to find freedom and friendship.

New Life in a New Way

We love celebrating baptisms and life change at Rush Creek. As we were gearing up for our annual Rush Week night of worship, our team wanted to incorporate baptisms from all three campuses into our service. So we decided to build a pool IN THE WORSHIP CENTER. And we’re not talking your run of the mill “kiddie” pool. We went BIG with a 16 foot long, 8 foot wide, 3,800 gallon beast that could hold up to 10 people at a time. We had BIG expectations of God for the night, and He didn’t disappoint. Read More…
